Āwhina is part of the Rockmybaby Group
“We’ve been nurturing little rock stars, in homes throughout New Zealand/Aotearoa, since 2006. Ursula Maidens launched Rockmybaby in 2006 to help friends solve their childcare problems. From the beginning, it was clear that this need was more complex than simply finding someone to keep an eye on the kids.”
The Rockmybaby Group exists to connect busy parents with reliable, flexible and high-quality childcare. And while most parents see childcare as a need rather than a want, our aim is to flip that on its head. As childcare is a global need, we have a global mindset. Rockmybaby began in New Zealand and has been embraced around the world, with franchise branches in Australia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Europe. Our New Zealand team works out of our Head office in sunny Hawke's Bay.
“It takes a village to raise a child” – so we’re building a new type of village, after all, modern childcare needs to fit the modern world. Rockmybaby connects families with experienced childcare practitioners. True to our belief that good childcare is about enrichment and not just supervision, we offer the full spectrum of care, from in-home education to nannies, centre-based childcare, after-school care to babysitting.

We’re a compassionate source of expertise. We are parents, and we know what it’s like: the stress of organising multiple schedules, the worries and fears about safety, the guilt of leaving the children at home while you do something for yourself.
Great parenting is complex, and we believe that it’s not a matter of being present for every moment. In fact, we know that children thrive when their parents lead full and happy lives. Raising more awesome humans means looking after yourself too.
